Biometrical Study on the Korean Girl Students

Abstract
Upon the physical measurement for the 670 Korean girl students of 18 and 19 years of age, the following conclusions have been drawn.
(1) As for longitudinal diameters, i.e., the stature and the height of the anterior superior iliac spine, the values for the girl students are greater than those of the Korean women standards before the World War II, and these increases in the longitudinal diameters are attributed to the increase in the leg length.
(2) As to the transverse diameters, i.e., the biacromial and span, there are no significant differences between the values for the girl students and of the Korean women standards before the World War II, but the mean value of the pelvic breadth of the girl students is greater than that of the Korean women standard before the World War II.
(3) With respect to the measurements of head and face, i.e., the head length, head breadth, total face height, upper face height and zygomatic, no differences exist between the both groups mentioned above.
(4) No remarkable differences are found among the two groups of age and among the various rareas in the all measured items.
